Saturday saw Otford as visitors to the Green.

This weeks skipper, Will Terry won the toss and invited the visitors to bat on a splendid afternoon for village cricket. The opening batsman saw off the new ball effectively and moved to 72 before Chris Filmer (1-20) held a good caught and bowled chance to make the breakthrough. David Vant (2-25) followed up with a couple of wickets, before Will Terry (3-33) and Steve Horrocks (2-40) saw out the 40 overs. 10 man Otford finishing on 188-8 from their allocation of overs.

This weeks new opening partnership for Bearsted saw John Haggart (50) and Chris Filmer (72*) make untroubled progress until Haggart was dismissed for his second 50 of the season, with the score on 80. There was a slight wobble when Eroll Chimanga (2) followed soon after, but Captain Terry (17) combined with Filmer to take the score to 161 before Terry was dismissed. It was left to Steve Horrocks (20*) to come in and see Bearsted home to a comfortable win with 8 overs to spare.

The win moves the 2s up to 6th in the table (https://tinyurl.com/ydfhdza9), with a trip to 3rd placed Eynsford next weekend.
