Can you help your club by volunteering to develop junior talent in 2019

As our club continues to progress, we are in desperate need of more volunteers across a number of areas to help us surpass the successes of the past couple of seasons.

One area that has seen real growth has been our junior section and in 2019 we plan to be running cricket for the following age groups;

  • Under 9 (Kwik Cricket development)
  • Under 11 (development and league)
  • Under 15 (league), and
  • Under 16 (development and league)

This level of commitment and growth in our junior sides requires ever more adult support to organise the sessions, provide the required coaching and adhere to safeguarding requirements so we are on the look out for any players or parents who would be interested in volunteering some of their time to help.

With the expected numbers of children in 2019 we are looking for urgent help initially in the U11 and U15/U16 age groups.

With many of our U9 team will be moving up this year we will also be looking to encourage a new in flux of boys and girls, in school years 3 and 4, who would like to start their cricket journey with BCC - please pass on this message separately!

As a full ECB Clubmark accredited club and in adherence to the "Safe Hands - Cricket's Policy for Safeguarding Children" the club would be happy to help with obtaining all the relevant information and authorisations required so that you can volunteer your time. You will also be working with our Colts Chairman (Barry Watling) and existing age group managers and coaches (Simon Barker, Andy Petty and David Patton) to help develop young cricketing talent.

For those new to coaching, and who would be happy to develop skills whilst offering their time as support to the lead coaches, there are options to complete ECB Coach Support Worker courses as well - details of which can be provided on request.

So, what are you waiting for? Can you give up a small amount of your time during the summer to help develop the future players of BCC? If so, please get in touch. You can email secretary@bearstedcricketclub.co.uk or contact Barry or any of the age group managers directly for more details.

Your support will be valued massively - both by the club but more importantly by the junior players.
