Cricket returns to the Green this weekend!

Thanks to the hard work of the groundsman and volunteers our first games of the 2018 season will take place this Saturday 21st April

Unsurprisingly the extremely wet and snowy weather over the past couple of months has played havoc with pre-season preparations on the Green for the new cricket season.

Last Saturday (14th April) was supposed to be our first home friendly but as the ground was still saturated we had been unable to get the mower and roller out and so the outfield was in no fit state to play. Our groundsman, Dave Wratten, however has worked his usual magic and the square is already starting to look great.

If the predicted warm and sunny weather materialises this week then the ground should continue to dry out, we can get the mowers and rollers out again and we should be all ready for the first ball to be bowled at 13:30pm on Saturday.

Remember, if you would like to and are available to play, this Saturday or during the season, make sure you are registered on this website as a player and you have set your availability.

We have two matches this weekend, with Mark Sandhu leading the 1st XI at home against Penshurst Park CC, and Tim Croom taking our 2nd XI away to Sherwood CC.

If you can't play this weekend why not pop along at some point for a drink and to catch up with your friends at BCC.
